mySate is 'SATE KAJANG'

In the old days, before the opening of the North South Highway, almost every traveler going south-bound or north-bound  using Jalan Persekutuan I passing Kajang town would stop over to eat sate (or spelled 'satay') especially opposite the old bus terminal where a number of restaurants specialised in selling sate were located. Sate has been  Kajang town local delicacy since traveling by road were introduced in the then Malaya. So famous were sate in Kajang that over times it became known as 'sate Kajang' and Kajang is also known as 'Sate Town'.

Nowadays in Kajang you can visit Sate Gallery where  sate history is exhibited.  The building was built by MPKj in recognition of the town famous product and was open since 2009.

You can eat sate at Bangunan Dato' Nazir where Sate Hj Samuri is situated or at Restoran Malaysia nearby. For variety and choice you can go to Medan Sate in Jalan Sulaiman. In fact there is a famous sate outlet in Sg Ramal.

The uniqueness of sate in Kajang is its white peanut gravy-sauce which has separate hot chili sambal to mix accordingly to suite the taste of the young and old and even foreigners. While the sate is made of  chicken meat, beef or mutton marinated with spices and special ingredients that tenderized and give it its distinct flavor. Grilled over charcoal fire the sate combines perfectly with the white  sate sauce and its chilli sambal.
